Dumas Candy was first known as the El Dorado Candy Company. The company was started in the 1930's by the Jeffries family of El Dorado, AR. In 1949, H.E. Dumas purchased the company and changed the name to Dumas Candy Company. The company stayed in the Dumas family for 38 years until Dave Johnson bought it in 1987.
Mr. Johnson moved the company in 1990 to its present home of Delhi, LA. The move to Louisiana was made so that the company would have larger facilities to allow for increased products. Although some of the processes have changed, Dumas Candy still uses the same tried and true recipes that were established over five decades ago.
